A new customer had a novel imaging machine design requiring the movable arm to be lightweight and very good surface quality. The machine is used for high-definition images for breast cancer diagnosis, the images are more than 8x more accurate and defined than a typical mammogram.
Using our offshore partners TPM was able to cast, machine and paint the arms with much lower tooling costs and part costs helping to get the equipment on the market quickly and for a more attractive price to clinics and hospitals around the world.
The end result is that TPM was able to provide parts to our customer with a very nice surface finish, minimal wall thickness (to reduce weight) and the precision machining required for medical equipment all at a great value.
